Transclusion of the short story

Thank you very much, @Bio2935c and @Thuresson, for your help with the transcription of this short story by Marceline Desbordes-Valmore, and sorry for not being able to write this message in swedish.

I've tried to create the page of the whole text but there is a problem when a word is cut in the end of a page and ends on the following one, such as with the word "lär-dom" on pages 9 and 10 ("gifva vår son den lär-dom"). Do you know how to improve this?

Also, I don't know why the 6th chapter is numbered 4 on this page (we can see number 6, or more precisely VI, written in the original text in French). In the Wikisource in French we have a model called "corr" to correct obvious mistakes made by the editor, I don't know if you have similar practices here.

In case you want to add other texts in swedish by Marceline Desbordes-Valmore, I've spotted three poems (Tre Dikter) translated by Rosina Wetterhoff in Hemmet Och Samhallet (No 4, 1891-04-15, s. 29) (in French: "La pauvre fille", "Renoncement" and "La couronne effeuillée") and one poem translated by Karl E. Kullgren, En ung drottnings bröllop (in French: "Le mariage d’une jeune reine").

No Swedish? No problem. Pretty much everyone (at least here on Wikisource) at least understands English (as do you, obviously).

The transcluded version? I changed it to use the "pages" construct, instead of a long list of "Sida" (much more compact; have a look). This lets the (now) default behaviour join the two word-parts (see pages 9/10). It works well as long as the "join" doesn't happen to end up at the end of a transcluded line (see pages 34/35) where the "original page number" (shown at the left side) interferes with the joining process. The standard old workaround would be to just put the whole word on the 2nd page (and none on the 1st page); yes, the pages are no longer identical to the originals, but only minimally different. Not a "big deal", especially if the word being split is commonplace. That said, I'm surprised that this is not used in French Wikisource. (Or is it just you?)

Chapter 6? Just a typo, exactly as it was in the original 1882 newspaper rendition. We do have a template for this of course: "rättelse". I used it a few times in other obvious problem areas too.

Other texts? For me, I'll pass; poetry doesn't interest me. The current story, being both a story and short, is more to my taste.

Indeed I simply did not try the "pages" construct we use on Wikisource in French, as I was not sure it would work, and found the other method on another book I found. But it's indeed much better with "pages".

It's interesting to see how the rättelse model works on this Wikisource, with a different behaviour on the proofread page and on the transcluded page. I was surprised at first but it makes perfect sense, and I'll see if the French Wikisource community is tempted by adopting the same behaviour.

In the same book, which I will probably donate to the town library of Douai, which holds a collection about Marceline Desbordes-Valmore, there are two other texts from the same editor (I guess they were also serialized in Nya Dagligt Allehanda):

• Småstadsromantik. Novell at Lea (142 pages)
• Alfonsos Vålnad af Markham Howard. Öfversättning från Engelskan (155 pages)

I can scan them and put them on Wikimedia Commons if you think the swedish Wikisource community may be interested.

Those other two stories in the same book? Let me offer a personal opinion:

I am interested in works in Swedish. The first story (Småstadsromantik) appears to be a Swedish original, so for me it does hold some interest. If you scanned it, I would (probably) work on the proofreading.

The second story (Alfonsos...), not so much. It's a translation from a very common language, so (IMO) it would be better in the original English on English Wikisource. That said, I can't find anything at all by "Markham Howard" on that site. Perhaps it's a pseudonym? As for "Alfonso" or "Alphonso" ... too many hits; don't want to scan through them all. On the other hand, the story as published in Nya Dagligt Allehanda appears to be very much shorter than 155 pages (15 possibly, perhaps you are mistaken??), and I know there are people here who do work on translated books (even long ones), so possibly one of them is interested.
